The BioHorizons Camlog Corporate Forum broadcasted live on Oct. 13th 2021

During the 2nd edition of the EAO Digital days hosted by the European Association of Osseointegration BioHorizons Camlog is participating again as Diamond Sponsor contributing with an exciting corporate forum that took place on Wednesday, October 13th.

With a focus on improving regeneration and implants longevity, BioHorizons Camlog corporate session was presented by recognised experts and educators from Europe and the US, who shared their clinical recommendations for achieving a desired aesthetic result via a multi-disciplinary approach. 
Among the topics presented include modern immediate placement approaches while working fully digitally (Dr. Ramón Gómez Meda, Spain); and how treatment options may be increased with the use of short implants (Dr. Michael Pikos, USA). 

Focusing on biologics; in what way adding L-PRF matrices improves membrane-healing via the release of growth factors while serving as an antibacterial barrier will be reviewed (Marc Quirynen, Belgium). Plus, clinical results when using a novel porcine derived acellular dermal matrix will be evaluated (Katja Nelson, Germany).

Dr. Michael Pikos

United States


Dr. Michel A. Pikos, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon, graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from The Ohio State University. He is founder and CEO of the Pikos Institute. Since 1990, he has been teaching advanced bone and soft tissue grafting courses along with full arch immediate reconstruction courses with alumni that now number more than 4300 from all 50 states and 43 countries. He has lectured extensively on dental implants in the U.S. and internationally and is a well published author including his recent book “Bone Augmentation in Implant Dentistry.” Dr. Pikos maintains a private practice which is limited exclusively to implant Reconstruction surgery in Trinity, Florida.

Dr. Ramón Gómez Meda


Dr. Gómez Meda obtained his degree in Dentistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He received a Thesis Award from the Autonomous Community of Galicia for Academic Excellence. He then finished his Postgraduate training in Periodontics and Implantology in Madrid, Occlusion and Temporo-mandibular Dysfunction in Valencia and Orthodontics with Prof. David Suarez Quintanilla from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
Dr. Gómez Meda is a renown national and international speaker. He is the Founder of Meda Formación Dental in Ponferrada, Spain where he also practices full time.

Dr. Katja Nelson



Professor Dr. Katja Nelson graduated from the Free University, Berlin, Germany. She was trained as an Oral Surgeon in the Clinic for Oral- and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Charité Campus Virchow, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, where she also received her PhD. Currently she is at the University of Freiburg with the first Chair for Implantology in Germany (Chair of Translational Implantology). She received numerous international/national awards and is President of the Trinational Society of Dentists of the Upper-Rhine.

Dr. Marc Quirynen



Professor Dr. Marc Quirynen received his dental degree in 1980 and his education and training in periodontology in 1984, and his PhD in 1986 all from the Catholic University of Leuven. In 1990 he was appointed Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Leuven where he teaches periodontology and anatomy. His research focus has been in oral microbiology investigating the influence of surface characteristics on bacterial adhesion and the effect of antiseptics, oral malodor, simplification and optimization of periodontal therapy including implant surgery.
